How to apply for a passport online?

Nowadays online passport application has become very easy.You can apply yourself by following some steps.If you follow the steps given below then you can fill the application for passport.For this you do not need to go to any agent.

1. First, we have to open the site www.passportindia.gov.in
2. Then close the page of Tatkal Advisory & Alert on Fake Websites related to Passport Services pop-up.

3. Then click on Home page

4. Click on the new user Registration
5. You will get a page of the user registration page

How do file a user Registration form for a passport? 

1. Click on  Register to apply at the Passport office.
2. Select the Register to apply at the Passport office as per your city.
3. Need to fill in the First name, Middle name, & surname.
4. Also, need to fill in your date of birth and email ID.  
5. If you want to log in with the same email id then you can click on yes, select No, and use another email id for login.
6. Fill in your login ID (Email ID), and password, and confirm password.
7. Select any one Hint question for security purposes. And give a hint answer.
8.  Enter the captcha which is displayed.Click on Register
9. You will get a confirmation message in your registered mail ID

10. You can see a link in your confirmation mail, and have to click on it, so you the see the page Enter user ID. 

11. You have to enter your email id and click on submit. Your account will be created.

12. Again you have to click on the home page and then click on the existing user login.

13. You have to fill your email id and click on continue.

14. Then you need to fill registered email ID and password. Enter the captcha also. Click on login.
15. You will get the applicant’s home page. And you need to click on apply for fresh passport / Re-issue of passport.

16. You will get a page and here you have to click on this options click here to fill the the application form.

17. You have to select your state and district.

18. Then you will get a page of passport type, here you have to select applying for a fresh passport , The Type of application is Normal. And booklet type 36 pages.Then click on Next.

19.You will get another page of Applicant Details. You need to fill out this.

How to fill applicant Details form for a passport ?

1. You need to fill your First name, Middle name, & surname.
2. Select your gender
3. If you have any additional name then you can select Yes otherwise You can select No
4. Then select Have you ever changed your name Yes / No
5. Select your date of birth 
6. Also, select Is your place of birth out of India  Yes / No 
7. Select Place of birth (Village / Town /City) 
8. Select your state, District, and also marital status
9. Select Citizenship of India by birth/registration / Naturalization or Descent 
10. A PAN card or Voter Card is optional. If you have you can fill it.
11. Then you have to select your occupation- employment type 
12. Select if either of your parents and spouse is a government servant or not.
13. Then you need to select your educational qualification
14. Select is applicant eligible for  Non- ECR category (need to 10th pass or more than the qualification, then you need to submit the documents)
15. If you have any birthmark or any visible distinguishing mark or not.
16. Then you have to fill your Adhaar number and select agree yes. And click on next
17. You will get a page of Family details.

1. First, you have to fill your legal guardian’s name(Fisrt+middle+surname). 
2. Then need to fill out the Mother’s name, spouse’s name (optional). 
3. Then click on Next.

Present Residential address

1. Is your address out of india or not?
2. Need to fill house no and street Name
3. Need to fill your (Village/ Town / City / State/ District / police station / Pin code/ Mobile number/ Telephone number/ Email Id). 
4. Is your permanent address available or not?
5. Then click on Next. 
6. Then you need a pop up. If you click on Ok then you can not change anything after that.so Very carefully you have to fill these all the details.
7. After click on ok you you will get a page of Emergency contact.

You have to give any one person name and address , mobile no/ phone no and email id in your family for emergency purpose.Then click on Next , and you will get a next page of Identity Certificate / Passport details.

1. If your passport ever held or hold any identity certificate that time you just click on yes , otherwise you select no and save the details, so you will get a confirmation that your application form has been saved successfully. 
2. After Click on Next, You will get a page of other details. 
3. If you are a fresh user then you have to select all No option.

4. Then click on Save and then click on Next . 
5. You can see the format of your passport then verify your details and click on next.
6. You can see the page of self-declaration.

7. Then you have to select proof of birth and proof of present residential address. (Addhar card or Voter card any option that you have comfortable)
8. Click on agree fill out the place name and click on save my details Then you have to submit your form.
9. Then you will get a reference number and 3 options. You have to click on the first option pay and schedule an appointment.

10. Then you have to select a payment method as per your convenient. And also have to select a passport office near you and also you have to check of availability of dates. Fill out the captcha also. Click on next.
11. Then you can see the different page of pay and book appointments. You can see an appointment date but also you can select as per your choice. then click on pay and book an appointment.

13. After your 1500 rupees payment is done you will get a confirmation message that your appointment is successfully done.

14. Then you have to take a printout of this slip. You have to visit the passport office on the given date.  

15. You have to take all the original documents with you.2 sets of photocopies of all documents will also have to be carried for verification.

16.After verification you will get a date of police verification and after 3 to 4 days you will get your passport in your address.
