First of all, you have to open your account in the IRCTC application. Then also you can book tickets through the app only. For this, you just have to follow some steps.
How to create an IRCTC account?
- First, have to download the IRCTC application.
- Then You can see the options of Register user.
- You will get this page after clicking on register user, You need to fill out this page very carefully, first, you need to fill your mobile number, email ID, and user name (it is most important because when you want to login your account then it should fill your user name and password.) Again confirm your password. (Password should be like ‘Railway@2023’)
- Mention your first, middle, and last name. Then need to fill date of birth and gender.
- Select Nationality ‘Indian’. and also need to select a security question as per your convenient. And answer properly.
- Occupation and marital status are optional.
- Then click on Next.

- You can see the next page and also you have to fill out all the details of your, city, street, area, state, country, Pincode, post office, and phone number, and lastly you have to fill captcha properly.
- Then click on Next
- Then you will get a pop-up congratulatory message and also need to verify your mobile no and email ID through OTP.
- Click on ok and then again shows the main page
- You need to fill Your user name and password and fill out the captcha properly.Then click Login.
- You need to verify your mobile number and email address through an OTP. Click on send OTP so you will get an OTP and have to fill it here.
- You will get a second pop-up message that verification is completed.
- Click on OK.
- Then again shows this home page.
- Again you to fill out your username, password, and Captcha. Click on login.
- You will get an option to set of M-pin. you need to set M-pin.
- Your M-pin Should be 4-digit number, when you want to reopen your IRTCT account you have to submit 4 4-digit m-pin and then you can open your account.
- After clicking on login you will get one more pop up like this

Some Important points
- Need to remember your user ID, Password, and M-pin.
- From 11.30 pm to 12.20 am you can not book any tickets. The server is busy at this time.
- Morning from 9.30 am to 11.30 am new users can not register a new Id.
- If your IRCTC application gets uninstalled by any chance, you will have to log in again by giving your user ID and password and set the m-PIN again.
